Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows – AMC 12 at Downtown Disney, Anaheim, CA

Absolutely beautiful. I wish I could talk more about how beautiful this film was, but I have to be really careful and not spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie(s). Sufficeth to say, if you’ve been waiting for somebody to encourage you to go see it, this is that moment (or it would be if you respected my opinions at all). 😉 The film picks up about 6 months or so after the first one ended and it does so perfectly. It immediately finds it’s groove again and just runs with it. It’s so beautiful to see Holmes face off against his greatest opponent yet! The acting is top notch! So great to see Stephen Fry as Holmes’ brother, Mycroft (unparalleled brilliance). Hans Zimmer delivers another amazing score. While listening, I at first made the mistake of trying to compare his work for this one with his work … Continue reading →

Movie Reviews (Backlog)

Morning Glory – Niagara Square Cinemas, Niagara Falls, ON, Canada Very cute. Bernie Pollack provided Harrison’s clothes (and presumably socks) – costume designer from Indy 4!!! Rachel McAdams is adorable as always. Harry Potter 7.1 – Niagara Square Cinemas, Niagara Falls, ON, Canada AMAZING! Loved the sneaking into the ministry scene and the dance in the tent. Unstoppable – Walden Galleria Cinemas, Cheektowaga, NY Very intriguing film. Yay Captain Kirk (was that a vague reference to Kirk hanging off of stuff?)! Yay Ethan Suplee! Tangled – AMC Rolling Hills 20, Torrance, CA & ArcLight Beach Cities Cinemas, El Segundo, CA So cute and beautiful and perfect! John Lasseter obliterates the 3D/2D line by declaring Tangled to be Walt Disney’s 50th full length feature animation. Zack Levi and Mandy Moore are perfect as the prince and princess. Intriguing to hear Jeffrey Tambor in “I’ve Got A Dream” – the timbre of … Continue reading →

Sherlock Holmes – AMC Del Amo 18, Torrance, CA

Absolutely wonderful! I mean I already knew I would love it just for the talent (Director Guy Ritchie and actors Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, and Mark Strong!), but it turned out to be 100 times better than I could have possibly imagined. I may boycott movie theatres except for big, BIG, releases (thank God there’s only 2 more Harry Potter movies). Cell phone glows are the bane of my existence. Soundtrack is incredible! Yay Hans Zimmer! We saw at least 20 minute of trailers: Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Youth In Revolt, Cop Out, Clash Of The Titans, Iron Man 2…it was ridiculous!
