Houseboating on Lake Shasta

Last Sunday through Thursday I went house boating with Laura and her extended maternal family. Saturday night I crashed at Laura’s house in Redondo Beach so we could take one car from Redondo (25 miles closer to Shasta). Sunday morning we were up at 6am and left the house by 7 to start. We chose the 101 over the 5 because it’s prettier and so we could stop in Paso Robles and visit the A&W Restaurant with carhop service. We got to Paso Robles around 1pm and slowly cruised down “main street” looking for the restaurant. Unable to find it, we scoured the web with my iPhone and found that they tore it down to build a bank. Boo! So we stopped at a Tastee Freeze for burgers and ice cream. You can play a trivia game to boost your Jedi/Sith knowledge stats. Some of the questions are really poorly written, but sometimes they just get downright haughty. And this one REALLY pisses me off. A parsec is actually a measure of what? Answers: distance. – relativistic adjustment. – time. – weight. I got sick of the trailer for this movie way before it came out (I think because I kept going to movies and kept seeing the trailer and all those movie posters with Steve Carrel in the Marilyn Monroe pose ala Noah). I didn’t really have a problem with the concept at that point because I had enjoyed the positive Christian message in Bruce Almighty and expected the same from this one, but as the trailer/posters/etc. kept intruding in my life, I think I became so sick of it I tried to translate my annoyance at the promotions into genuine dislike for the movie based on the fact God saying He wouldn’t flood the Earth ever again. Through this transference of dislike I became convinced that this movie was just horribly wrong and that I would hate it. On her MySpace music blog, Hayley Bennett (played music star Cora) explains to her fans that the character she played in the movie was just a character. I almost want to message her and go: no we don’t assume that you have no morals because you play a strange character in a movie, we’re just generally untrustworthy of anyone in the movie/recording industry. But whatever. The soundtrack to the movie is really awesome. Unfortunately, I’ve got the song Buddha’s Delight nailed into my head. You know all those times I’ve hummed It’s A Small World and got it drilled into your head? That how I remember this song…drilled into my head. It’s excruciatingly annoying. At Least I Got To See Them At The Zoo (ALIGTSTATZ) Pictures The day started out kind of weird. I let myself stay up later than I should have (the previous night I hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep…lots of tossing and turning for unknown reason…I think it was temperature based) but slept really well and slept-in an hour (instead of up at 7, ready to leave at 8, up at 8, ready to leave at 9). I got up, got everything ready and took everything down to the car (Mom and Sis staying at condo, so I can just leave my key and leave the resort without consequences). Apple – Trailers – An Inconvenient Truth – Trailer Al Gore tries to scare the world. This is hilarious. I can’t believe people just beg to be scared out of there wits by things beyond control. I hate liberals for trying to run our lives. If you think we miniscule humans are causing global warming, you need to step back from all the hype and take a look around.
