7 Technological Wonders Predicted by Disney Theme Park Attractions – D23 Fun! Kind of silly, but still! RUMOR: RunDisney Cancels All Future Race Events, Half Marathons at the Disneyland Resort – WDW News Today Innnnteresting. Some friends were having a discussion recently about some sort of RunDisney hub-bub, and I wonder if some (any) of the concerns are addressed/explained by this rumor. UPDATE – 18th October 2017 My wife reminded me that there is some additional, political context to this issue in the current battle between Disney and the Anaheim City Council. The L.A. Times did a good job breaking down the situation in their two-part article here: Is Disney paying its share in Anaheim? The money battle outside the Happiest Place on Earth – Los Angeles Times Marvel will release an official timeline for MCU after Spider-Man: Homecoming fiasco – Polygon Um….okay? I didn’t know this was such a … Continue reading →
A co-worker was poking around Google Maps and stumbled upon this unusual, yet practical demonstration of chromatic aberration (Wikipedia). Us Weekly | ‘Fixer Upper’ Was Presenting a ‘Security Issue’ for Chip, Joanna Gaines So beautiful! I’ve only seen the show a handful of times, but the hosts always struck me as genuinely good people and this only confirms it in my mind. PC Gamer | For better or worse, Assassin’s Creed: Origins is an RPG now This very much whets my appetite for more. 27 October can’t get here fast enough! Polygon | Disney chief was consulted about decision to kill Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens I don’t know why, but this feels like Iger trying to (unneccesarily) prove that he’s a mover / shaker or something. OOOH! I just found out that this adaptation is being made. I *really* enjoyed the book and since this is technically a TV adaptation, I have high hopes for it not sucking like Dreamcatcher did (especially since I also really enjoyed the TV adaptation of Dead Zone). And that J.J. guy does good work, too. :-p
Saving Private Ryan Sat down and watched it in it’s entirety for the first time in like 5 years and there are several people in the film that I now recognize which is very exciting! But they’re only in grammar school!”). Colby from Numb3rs – 3rd from the 506 Family Guy Star Wars Rush Limbaugh Reference Get the Flash Player to see this player. Quagmire/C3PO: Hey, mind if I turn on the radio? Announcer: WTAT – Tattoine’s All Talk Radio. Rush: My good friends, the liberal galactic media is at it again. They never stop! Now they’re trying to convince us that Hoth is melting! Well that’s crazy…just trying to … Continue reading →
….mentioned Dijkstra’s algorithm. And I know what that is. Thank you Professor Jacobson and ICS 23!
Here I am, sitting at my computer, eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s (mind your P’s and Q’s damn it) and I just realized (I think for the second time) that I can’t tell the difference. Between Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring’s widescreen edition and extended edition, that is. I can’t tell how they inserted an additional 45 minutes and I don’t notice it, which is strange for me. I’m such an anal-retentive bastard that details should matter. Even so, I’m able to ignore these thoughts and enjoy one hell of a good movie which gives name recognition to some of the coolest action heroes now in existence (who else do you think I’m talking about but Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen). It makes a hell of a good story, these novels that I read in junior high and can’t read ever again. Yeah I’ve always … Continue reading →
