Star Trek – Century 20 @ Bella Terra, Huntington Beach, CA

This is my event movie for this summer…if I didn’t see any other movie this summer I would be happy…well the first half of summer (Harry Potter)…well for May (no wait there’s Up and Terminator)…well I left the theatre feeling uplifted and optimistic and just plain jazzed. Not only is the film chock full of inside references (which are geek-tastic every time), but the story is absolutely fantastic. The science fiction is at acceptable levels (black holes are very destructive and space is sometimes silent) and the acting is perfect. Yay! It’s Jennifer Morrison (Cameron from House) as Kirk’s mom! Talk about awesome big screen cameos! If the end of the credits says that the movie is for somebody or in honor of somebody, that usually means that person died during the production of the film, right? [checks IMDB]…NOOOOO!!! Majel Barret died! *tear* Spoiler reviews that I enjoyed: Jim Hill … Continue reading →

Paul (dance) Matt Honoring the youth leaders Scott and Kathy Grace Elizabeth Kladnik Judy Horn Jenny MacGruder Chris Simpson Jon Our relationship with our bible Two points, can’t fit them both in Do you read your bible everyday? How much per week? Source of hope or discouragement? Benefits without commitments Strengthened by it’s wisdom, frightened by it’s standards If you’re not in your bible, you won’t understand His love We know it has answers and hope, but so do other things 1. Flawless – Psalms 12 2. Perfect – 19 3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Century 20 @ Bella Terra, Huntington Beach, CA

Lot of fun, lots of action… Yay Ryan Reynolds! Sure he’s only there part of the time, but he’s very funny and sarcastic…basically my kind of guy 😉 Yay Gambit! Sure he’s a pre-pubescent punk, but he’s got a N’awlins accent, throws playing cards and fights with a quarterstaff…what’s not to love? And of course yay Hugh Jackman and Liev Schrieber!! Two great actors who really embody their characters, able to express the animal rage at the core of the savage Sabretooth and the wicked Wolverine.

CTX S501A Troubleshoot Key Lock

So I can’t turn the monitor on or off. There is a Key Lock display when you plug the AC cord in. The internet is less than helpful. All I can find is some forum post reply that says push two buttons or hold down ESC and ENTER when powering the monitor on…yeah, THAT sounds like a good idea. So let’s push random combinations of buttons on the monitor until somethig happens… EUREKA! Volume Up key + Auto key = Key Lock toggle on/off

Earth – AMC 14 @ The District, Tustin, CA

I saw this film in it’s opening week for three reasons: 1) I was excited by the trailer – James Earl Jones! 2) I wanted Disney to plant a tree with my ticket purchase 3) I wanted to support the brand new DisneyNature label (essentially a production house for Disney’s True Life Adventures) Between the first viewing of the trailer and my viewing of the film, a negative thought was introduced into my head regarding this maiden voyage of DisneyNature (primarily from this MousePlanet review): that the film was simply a poor, disjointed summary of BBC’s Planet Earth miniseries (which was and still is a fantastic promo for the beauty of hi-definition television sets). Obviously this wasn’t enough to make me not see the film, but it definitely clouded my idle thought. I agree the film is slightly disjointed and prone to take liberties with narrative jumps, but the story … Continue reading →

Rent: The School Edition – Corona Del Mar

Very polished preview. Only one stop per act. Really good caliber performances from the leads…even by non-high school standards. Obviously they can’t say f***. The big problem song obviously is La Vie Boheme: They can say masturbation but they can’t say erection? They can’t say dyke. They jumped a section with lyrics right before the talking interlude…marijuana? Roger is phenomenal and this is his first onstage performance ever! He’s a sophmore varsity football player and he’s got a really good voice. 30 hi-quality cordless mics! Fancy LED footlights and high end lighting throughout! Really good show! Check it out before the protests shut it down!
