It’s my life and I’ll do what I want with it!

Mars

On the morning of August 27, 2003, Mars was the closest it has been to Earth in 60,000 years. Above: Mars viewed through the Hubble Telescope. Below: Mars from my backyard.

Your Voice

After seeing Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde, I was struck with the overly simplistic message that was layered beneath the perfume and bubbly-ness of Reese Witherspoon . . . our nation has lost it’s voice. Now a lot of you may be scratching your heads and saying “How could we have lost our voice if we’re saying this?” but I mean political voice. In LB2RWB, Reese Witherspoon’s character Elle Woods is planning her wedding to Luke Wilson (whatever his character name was) and she ABSOLUTELY has to invite her male Chihuahua’s mother. Unfortunately she discovers that Bruiser’s mom is a test subject at Versace labs (like omigawd!) which isn’t the fancy Versace, but this really horrible evil company that tests products on helpless animals. So Elle decides to go to Congress and get legislation passed that prevents the torture of poor helpless animals (damned bleeding-heart Liberals!). So, just … Continue reading →

Comic Book Conundrums

The space-time continuum never really makes sense to anybody . . . but then again, it’s not supposed to. I mean who are we, a bunch of Neanderthal-like creatures trying to comprehend something that’s so far over our head, an airplane 2 miles in the air is a comparative breeze? I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I’ve read some theories that I’d like to share with you today. Mainly theories coming from comic books, but they’re still worthwhile and put some things in perspective. First off, the space-time continuum. The fourth dimension is the space-time continuum. If we were able to traverse the fourth dimension, we might see a straight line of, literally, time that we might refer to as the “time-stream.” This view that I have taken with the fourth dimension is inspired by issue #152-153 of THE FLASH where the Flash battles Folded Man, a Rogue … Continue reading →

Love Suspendered

This page is for guys only. Females, you know you already rule the world, so give us this little haven and TURN BACK!                 For those of you who have read my English papers, mainly, Are We Alone?, you know that love is very tricky. Well, you didn’t have to read any of my essay’s to get to that stunningly simple conclusion, but it is true. Love is a complicated emotion (oh no, here I go with my complex mathematical formulas defining what it means to be human) that cannot be transcribed in a mathematical formula. But if you clicked and read the story (that is if you hadn’t already) then you see how difficult it is to maintain some sort of semblance in a relationship. Nowadays, people measure relationships in months and weeks, where as I measure my relationship with my girlfriend … Continue reading →

Part Deaux

For you newbie’s who skipped part alpha and went straight here to part deaux (whatever the hell that means) the following are my vitals. I’m a 17 year old Christian white guy born on July 1. I’ve been dating my girlfriend for about two years. She is a freshman in college and a dancer. I am an Eagle Boy Scout (the highest honor they give out). I’ve had my license since February 3rd, which means I’m not allowed to transport any persons younger than 25 without a 25 year old licensed in’duh’vidual* in the vehicle until I turn 18 this summer. Oh well. I am a senior at Orange County High School of the Arts, a charter school in Santa Ana. I am a musical theatre major which means that I sing songs, act…um…actions, and dance dances. I’m glad that made sense. Another fun fact is that last August I … Continue reading →

Matrices – AMC 30 @ The Block, Orange, CA

Matrix Reloaded blew me away. I saw it on May 15th, the quote-unquote opening day, although the real fun was at those piss-ant, jerk-water “special engagements” which I just don’t buy into . . . unless it’s Star Wars. But anyways . . . I saw it at 12:15 PM at AMC 30 at the City Block of Orange. On a side note, while there I saw a poster advertising THE PUNISHER by Marvel and Artisan coming in 2004. Anyways, to see it at 12:15 PM on a Thursday has to mean that school was either canceled or I had a “doctor’s appointment”. Which do you think it was? So I walk into one of the big four theatres at the Block and back against the wall in horror. I am 45 minutes early for the show and the theatre is . . . empty! I grab a seat and … Continue reading →

Prom Problems

This time, I’m going to do things right. You see, this weekend is my senior prom. I’m a senior in high school and it’s at the Disneyland Hotel, so I’m pretty excited. But this year is quite different. Let me lay out the way last year’s prom went. I’m a junior, my girl’s a senior. We have these two friends who are seniors and are thinking about renting a limo. The catch is they want to split the cost with someone. So we hook up and all chip in money to take a limo ride to prom. Dinner’s covered because they guy’s grandpa is a gourmet chef. Next is the tuxedo. My mom takes me to the formal wear at Sear’s where I pick out a zoot suit. I get measured, pay for it, and go home. My dad orders the corsage for me (I mean, I’m just too young … Continue reading →

Part Alpha

HURRY, HURRY, HURRY,   STEP RIGHT UP! Ladies und gentlemen, welcome to the North Pole   This is where I ramble on and on about life and random things in particular. You never realize how meaningless your life is until you view it in the perspective of a rancid squirrel on heroin. First we’re going to start with a word association game. I’m going to type a word and then I’m going to type the first word that comes to mind. Religion : Methodist. Marital Status : Taken. Style : Hetero. Sex : Yes please, no wait. Mail. No wait, ummm, is this a trick question? N-E-ways I am a very peculiar individual, in that I listen to any type of music except for Latin, because I studied the Spanish language for 2 years now (well, technically it’s two and a half years cuz I failed my second year and … Continue reading →

Gargoyles

Gargoyles Back when I was younger, Disney had a really cool afternoon program arrangement that aired on K-CAL 9 (at least where I was). It was entitled The Disney Afternoon. I really enjoyed it because it was fun to come home from school and watch the next generation of Disney toons. (Heh, Next Generation. I love Star Trek). Speaking of Star Trek, there was one of those new toons that I came to thoroughly enjoy and celebrate. Gargoyles. “In 1994, Buena Vista Television released the animated series Gargoyles. The show followed the adventures of a band of Scottish gargoyles in present-day New York after sleeping in stone under a magic spell for a thousand years. Gargoyles quickly became a hit with fans and lasted for two more seasons. Unfortunately, in early 1997 Buena Vista Television cancelled Gargoyles, despite the millions of fans who loved it.” The above quote is from … Continue reading →
